Prof. Maosong Huang

Prof. Maosong Huang is currently a distinguished professor in the Department of Geotechnical Engineering and the director of MOE Key Laboratory of Geotechnical and Underground Engineering at Tongji University, China. He graduated in Civil Engineering from Zhejiang University, China in 1985. From 1985 to 1990, he was a postgraduate student in Geotechnical Engineering at Zhejiang University. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Wales Swansea in 1995. From 1995 to 1998, he was a research fellow in the Department of Civil Engineering at McMaster University, Canada. His research interests include soft soil mechanics, and foundation engineering and underground engineering in soft soils. Prof. Huang was a receiver of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China, and the 19th Huang Wenxi lecturer of Chinese Journal of Geotechnical Engineering. He is a member of the Editorial Board for Computers and Geotechnics, and Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering. He is currently serving as an associate editor for European Journal of Environmental and Civil Engineering. Prof. Huang is also the vice President of the Chinese Institution of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, and the member of Technical Committees 101, 103 and 212 of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.
