Invited lecture title:A new method to improve in-situ remediation of petroleum oil contaminated soil using plasma blasting, pneumatic fracturing and vacuum extraction

Bo-An Jang is an emeritus professor now and has been a professor in the Department of Geophysics at Kangwon National University, Korea since 1990. His research topics are fracture development in rock and soil by plasma blasting, remediation of petroleum oil contaminated soil using plasma blasting, slope stability analysis, physical and mechanical properties of rock materials, and characteristics and shear behavior of rock joint. He published more than 200 papers in journals and conferences. He had served as an Executive Committee Member, Vice President, and President of the Korean Society of Engineering Geology. He had also served the Vice President of International Association of Engineering Geology and Environment (IAEG) during 2019-2022. He had held the positions of Dean of International Affairs, Dean of Industrial Cooperation, and Dean of the College of Natural Sciences at Kangwon National University.
