Short Bio
Dong Wang was awarded his PhD degree by Dalian University of Technology in 2002, and then he had worked at Dalian University of Technology (2002 – 2007) and University of Western Australia (2007 – 2016). After that, he joined the Ocean University of China as a professor. His work is mainly focused on the offshore geotechnical engineering, relating to submarine landslides, in-situ investigations, spudcan footings of jack-up rigs, foundations of wind turbines and anchors mooring floating structures. Additionally, he has strong interest in computational geomechanics, such as large deformation finite element analysis and material point method. He has been the principal investigator of seven competitive national grants in China and Australia, including the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China. He has published 102 peer-reviewed papers on international journals.
