Dr. Guo is a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Zhejiang University, and the deputy director of Zhejiang Key Laboratory of Marine Geotechnical Engineering and Materials. His current research interests involve offshore geotechnics and ocean engineering, committed to the development of extreme marine environmental safety protection technology, equipment development, and solutions. He hosted 17 research fundings including the National Natural Science Foundation and more than 20 engineering projects. He published 163 academic papers (116 indexed by SCI and 3 highly cited by ESI), wrote 2 Chinese and English books, and authorized with 7 American invention patents. The achievements have won 5 awards such as the first prize for scientific and technological progress in Zhejiang Province. He also serves as Executive Director of the Protection Engineering Branch of the Chinese Civil Engineering Society, Director of the Port Engineering Branch, and Member of the International Intelligent Infrastructure ISHMII ECR Committee.
